MovieMaker's Second Annual Look at Online Script Services
Script P.I.M.P has been working tirelessly to establish its name in the
online script business…and it's working. At less than two years old,
it's word of mouth from a number of satisfied customers that has helped
them to grow.
Says founder Chadwick Clough, "Our script volume has tripled in the
last year, a number largely attributable to our recent success stories and
word of mouth within the writing community. For years, writers have been
shut out of the industry because they didn't have contacts in NYC or LA
or because their script didn't win a particular contest. Now, these writers
have a chance."
In the last six months alone William Jack Sibley optioned his script, AMOR,
to director-producer Bryan Harston in a six-figure deal; Doug Rappaport
signed on with David Winkler for a high five-figure writing project; and
Robert Nelms gained representation through Sara Margoshes.
According to Sibley, Script P.I.M.P. solves "one of the hardest conundrums
in the business: getting one's script to the best possible source in order
to make it a go!"
Expect more great things from P.I.M.P. this year when they launch a new
writing competition. P.I.M.P. is also compiling a Contest Guide, which will
help writers in deciding which competitions are the better - and more reputable
- of the lot. Over $14,000 will be awarded, and 20 finalists will have their
work posted on the Writers' Script Network.
