BASIC CONDITIONS AND OTHER RULES
Contact information (name, E-mail address, etc..) may be added to the cover page
Scripts in PDF, Final Draft (.fdr), Microsoft Word (.doc) are preferred; any file type accepted, though
Any genre, style, length, etc. is fine, as long as the script is intended to be a feature-length screenplay
You may submit as many entries as you prefer; there is no restriction on the number of entries
Simultaneous submissions are fine (i.e. you can enter other screenwriting contests with the same script)

2008 JUDGES MENTORS

The 2008 Script Pimp Competition is searching for the best stories told by the best screenwriters demonstrating the best craft. Each screenplay entered is guaranteed two (2) reads from the Script Pimp panel of judges. Composed of working literary agents, literary managers and development directors from the film industry, the 2008 judges are comprised of representatives at the following companies:

Alive Entertainment, Arpil Entertainment, Benderspink, Creative Artists Agency, Creative Convergence, Darko Entertainment, Energy Entertainment, Foursight, Guy Walks Into A Bar Productions, Hypnotic, Intellectual Property Group, Mission Underground, Smart Entertainment, Think Film, The Radmin Company, United Talent Agency, William Morris Agency, Kersey Management, Management 360, Original Artists, Silent R Management, Bopopolis Bros. Film Factory, Candance Lake Literary, Diverse Film Company, Drops Entertainment, Elements Entertainment, Endeavor Agency, Foremost Films, Gersh Agency, Industry Entertainment, Infinity Media, Menlo Park Productions, Millennium, Mosaic Media Group, New Regency, ONC Entertainment, Original Media, Rebel Entertainment Partners.

Chadwick and Sean will work to set up at least one mentor meeting with each finalist. Meetings will be scheduled around the awards ceremony or by phone. The mentors are not intended to personally represent your project, rather they will provide advice, potential leads, and act as an overall guide in your effort to circulate your script.

 DO I NEED TO COPYRIGHT MY SCRIPT?
Although it is not required to enter our competition, we recommend you register your work with a copyright service, such as the U.S. Copyright Office or the Writer's Guild of America (WGA West | WGA East). Alternatively, clickandcopyright.com will register your work for you.

 GENERAL LEGAL RULES

The Script is completely original with me; I am the present and exclusive and sole owner of all right, title, and interest in and to the Script; and I have the exclusive, sole, and unconditional power and right to submit the Script to you subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement and the rules of your screenwriting competition. (If the Script is adapted from another medium, I am enclosing documentation verifying my right to make such an adaptation.)

The Script has not been produced, sold or optioned.

I am at least eighteen (18) years of age.

I acknowledge my understanding that eligibility to compete in this contest is limited to individuals who do not fall within any one of the following:

  1. Individuals who have received sole or shared producer credit as to any film, series, or episode that has been produced for presentation in theaters or by means of television, home video, or any similar medium;
  2. Individuals who have received sole or shared writing credit as to any film, series, or episode that has been produced for presentation in theaters or by means of television, home video, or any similar medium;
  3. Individuals who have received sole or shared directing credit as to any film, series, or episode that has been produced for presentation in theaters or by means of television, home video, or any similar medium;
  4. Individuals who have sold or optioned, in consideration of the receipt of the sum of $15,000 or more, any film screenplay to any entity or individual.

Writers Boot Camp in Santa Monica, August 15th.
